I was just about to purchase these and find myself asking the obvious – if they are same size and shape as a 1p coin? Why would I pay £1.20 (plus delivery) for 25 of them.
Don’t I just find myself 25 1p coins and glue my models to them?

We produce these bases due to their demand.
We originally produce trays to accommodate figures based on 1p coins but then we received numerous requests for MDF bases to fit the trays.
You are quite correct, if you want to use 1p coins for your bases then do so but it is all down to personal choice and while there is a demand we will produce the MDF alternative.

Increasingly use these with my 15mm sci fi forces and am using them to replace the 1p bases I originally used over the last decade. They’re sturdy and just nicer to look at.
With society going increasingly card based for transactions, frankly getting pennies and using them for bases is just no longer reliable.
