Description
Warbases have scoured the planet in search of the finest paint brushes, finally sourcing them from deepest, darkest Yorkshire. We have named the four grades Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. A description of each grade appears below;
- Platinum – Finest Kolinsky Sable, recommended for fine detail work and showcase standard painting.
- Gold – Red Sable, cheaper than our Platinum brushes, but still of an extremely high standard – You may find these to be better than much more expensive brushes from other manufacturers
- Silver – Red Sable Blend. Sable mixed with Synthetic fibre to provide a durable brush at a sensible price. These are good all round brushes for the wargamer.
- Bronze – Nylon. This grade offers greater durability and versatility for the wargamer. We can recommend these for all your painting, not just laying down primer or base coats.

Now I’ve tried all sorts of brushes over the years from very cheap ones from the Works through to Windsor & Newton brushes and have had mixed results in that time.
I saw these Warbases brushes while picking up some bases and thought I’d give them a go, I’m glad I did. Now I’m no pro painter and my eyesight lets me down these days so my painting is very “table top” standard but I really like these brushes.
I bought 3 that were similar in size 1, 0 & 2/0 and have been impressed by how they hold a point and just how nice I find them to hold and how easy they are to work with.
I may even be tempted to try the more expensive ones but for now I’m happy with these!
